HILLTOPPER FOCUS: Weather pushes back WKU-Ohio State baseball series
Published 3:09 pm Thursday, March 5, 2015
Winter weather has wreaked havoc once again on the Western Kentucky baseball team’s schedule.
The Hilltoppers (6-5) were scheduled to begin a home series with Ohio State on Friday, but that has been altered to a Sunday-Monday slate.

WKU and the Buckeyes will play a doubleheader Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. at Nick Denes Field, with the series finale Monday. The game time for Monday’s contest hasn’t been finalized, but it’s likely to be a morning start with the Tops traveling to Mississippi State later in the day.
This is the ninth time this season that WKU has had to shift dates, locations or times because of inclement weather. The Tops will still retire the No. 36 jersey of former coach Joel Murrie at 12:45 p.m. Sunday before the series gets underway.
Here is my story in Thursday’s BGDN print edition about the Ohio State series, weather disruptions and WKU’s four-game winning streak.
