The Western Kentucky football team put up points in impressive fashion last season, but it also did so with major efficiency.

According to a chart released Monday by CoachingSearch.com, the Hilltoppers were sixth in the country in plays per point in 2014.

WKU racked up 577 points on 986 plays for an average of 1.7 plays per point.

The Tops’ Conference USA mate, Marshall, was best in the nation at 1.61 plays per point. The rest of the top five were Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Georgia Southern.

The article also notes a previous chart that had WKU as the ninth-most improved scoring offense in the country – up 13.2 points per game from 2013.
