BOCA RATON, Fla. — There were plenty of “BR” faithful at FAU on Thursday. It was just more Big Red than Boca Raton.

The Tops had the backing of a few hundred loud WKU fans who sat directly behind their bench for the comeback win.

“We had a sixth man on the road,” WKU coach Ray Harper said. “It was a tremendous crowd, and I told them thanks for being here. They were huge and gave us some extra energy.”

WKU filled up its entire pass list for the game and also had the backing of the school’s swim team, which is in Florida training over the winter break.

The announced attendance at FAU Arena, known as “The Burrow,” was 1,491.

“I just heard our fans,” senior forward George Fant said. “I knew we had our swim team and a lot of other fans here. It felt like a home game at some points.”
