Western Kentucky coach Jeff Brohm and junior linebacker Nick Holt talk about Sunday’s practice in the Bahamas.
Jeff Brohm
Getting to the Bahamas: “Traveling went great. It was extremely efficient. Greg Brohm and Travis Taylor arranged everything. Guys traveled well and we got here fast, plane flight was quick and we had two planes and everybody got here, got set up, had a great evening last night and looking forward to having a great week.”
Practice today: “Practice was great. I think our guys are ready to go. They practiced hard, they’re working hard, they understand the importance of working hard when it’s time to work and get better, and then when it’s time to relax a little bit, they want to relax and enjoy everything that the Bahamas has to offer.
“But our guys understand the focus is winning this game, bottom line.”
Water issue: “We went old school today. It used to be we didn’t get water as much. We had a little issue with water, but we got it here and they got plenty in them. Our guys will be refreshed and ready to go.
“It’s a little warmer, but that’s good, that’s what you want and our guys like it.”
Linebacker Nick Holt
Practice today: “It went really well. It was good getting out here, running around, getting kind of used to the heat. We thought we had a really good practice – people flying around. We felt god about today.”
Beats BG doesn’t it: “It sure does. You can really not beat us.”
The scene: “Oh, it’s awesome. This is such a beautiful place. We’re extremely fortunate to be here. We’re here to win a football game. We haven’t lost sight of that.”
Water situation: “Yeah, at first we pretty thirsty. But they took care of us. They’re supposed to have water here, they didn’t, but our trainers got a hold of some water somehow.”
Most looking forward to at Atlantis: “I’m looking forward to some slides, but I’m gonna try to stay out of the sun. I’m gonna take a lot of naps is what I’m looking forward to.”
Intensity of practice: “We got up early today. Everyone was kind of locked in. We’re focused and ready to go.”
