Western Kentucky senior cornerback Cam Thomas and senior linebacker Terran Williams spoke Friday about the trip to the Bahamas,

Cam Thomas

    Reaction to Bahamas: “I’m not a big person traveling outside the country. I traveled as a kid, playing AAU and things like that, and I’ve seen most of the states.

    “The Bahamas is nice. I’m not a beach person. But I’ll love to go out there just to see the scenery – I’m a scenery guy. It’ll be nice to get out of the country once.”

    Atlantis: “I wanna go down that little water slide (Leap of Faith). It’s not a little one, it’s 60-foot. I’m gonna do it. I’m a daredevil. I wanted to skydive, Gary (Ransdell) asked me to do it before the (Army) game but I couldn’t do it.

    “But yeah, can’t wait to do the waterslide. I’m a seafood person, too, so it’ll be nice to get some actual, real seafood.”

    Defense: “I said it at the beginning of the season I had faith in those guys. I knew we would come around, it just took time. We was a young group. Guys didn’t play a lot of football together.

    “The previous year we had guys who had been together since we came in. It was kinda hard, you had two key players who played in those defenses. To have those guys come in, and, late in the season do really well and get their mojo back it was great. And it’s great for them going into next season – and the spring also.

    “This game is going to be important for our defense to basically say this is the impact we’re going to have next season. A lot of negativity came around this defense this year, but sometimes you’re gonna love ‘em, you’re gonna hate ‘em, but we got the job done the last four games and we plan on doing it a fifth game.”

    CMU offense: “They bring, I don’t know the kid’s name, but he’s also a prospect. I love going against guys that there’s a lot of hype around. I strive in those moments. I pick those guys up on my defense to say, ‘Hey, this is the type of moments you want.’

    “Going into the Marshall game I said that and you see how we played that game. Sixty six points is a lot of points, but that doesn’t show how hard we played that game and the pressure we put on (Rakeem) Cato. We plan on doing that this game on the quarterback – I don’t know his name either  – but I feel like we’re just gonna come out and play with our hats on fire.”

Terran Williams

    Bahamas reaction: “I was so happy. I ain’t been to Florida in five months. That’s close to the Bahamas. When I found out I was going to the Bahamas – I woke up at 11 o’clock, I was checking everything. I was checking all the news feeds. And then we got that text, I was the happiest person in the world.”

    Most looking forward to: “The pools and the jet skis. I rode a jet ski one time. Even though people think I’m from Florida I ride them a lot. But my first time riding a jet ski was two years ago. That’s what I want to do as soon as I get there.”

    Leap of Faith: “Nah. I don’t really like heights. I’d rather be level to the ground. I can’t do that. Not 60 feet.”
