Krispy Kreme is set to open in Bowling Green in December, and the store is hiring 70 people.

The Krispy Kreme doughnut factory will open on Campbell Lane in mid-December, said Lafeea Watson, spokesperson for Krispy Kreme. Full- and part-time positions are up for grabs before opening.

Team member, production specialist and shift supervisor positions are available. Qualified applicants must apply online at sweetplacetowork.com for the opportunity to receive a scheduled in-person interview, according to a news release from Krispy Kreme.

Watson did not know what the range of wages would be for the positions.

Although 70 people may sound like a lot, Watson said there are three shifts to fill and that the first six months are often busy for new Krispy Kreme stores.

“The holiday season is a pretty busy time for Krispy Kreme,” Watson said. “We typically start with a lot of people.”

Some of those employees may only want the job for the season, so the staff numbers will likely fluctuate later, Watson said.

“You expect some transition from the initial staff,” Watson said.

Qualified applicants must be friendly and kind-hearted.

“The entire idea is to spread joy. … We’re all about joy,” Watson said. “Basically, your job is to help Krispy Kreme spread joy to every customer who comes in our store and through our drive-through. That can look like a smile, a ‘thank you,’ a free sample. Whatever helps people enjoy the Krispy Kreme experience.”

The approximately 2,400-square-foot location with a drive-through will feature more than a dozen varieties of Krispy Kreme’s doughnuts – including the signature hot original glazed – as well as a complete menu of Krispy Kreme Chillers, iced beverages and Krispy Kreme coffee blends, according to the release.

Expected hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday in store, with a 24-hour drive-through window.
