Mr. Michael Scott Wilson, 57, of Bowling Green, died Sept. 7, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Living Hope Baptist Church, 1805 Western St., and at 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at the home of Jean and Jimmy Butts, 540 Allen Road, Grove Hill, Ala.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Jennifer Wood Wilson of Bowling Green; his daughter, Katie Wilson of Opelika, Ala.; his mother, Jean Welch Butts of Grove Hill, Ala.; his brother, D. Wyatt (LuAnne) Wilson of Trussville, Ala.; his sister, Gina Wilson (Dale) Holloway of Gulf Shores, Ala.; and two brothers-in-law, Cy (Jennifer) Wood of Troup County, Ga., and D. George (Linda) Wood of Lanett, Ala.

He was born Sept. 27, 1956, in Grove Hill, the son of the late David Gerald Wilson. His paternal grandparents were the late Bernard Wilson and Norma Walker Wilson of Grove Hill, and his maternal grandparents were the late Margaret Dewitt Welch and Roy Crawford Welch. Mr. Wilson graduated from Marion Military Institute and attended Birmingham Southern College and the University of South Alabama. He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green.

Mr. Wilson was a certified professional chef and the executive chef/owner of Kitchen Towel Productions in Bowling Green. He was the author of four cookbooks, “Healthy Home Cooking,” “Eating Healthy, Eating Right,” “Dining Under the Magnolia” and “The Legacy Garden,” which won the National Indie Excellence Award.
