Drawing the ace means Langley’s name will appear first on the November ballot on the list of candidates for Bowling Green city commissioner.

Langley said he is thankful to have drawn No. 1 because he came in eighth in number of votes received in May’s primary race, beating out one candidate to move on to the general election.

“I feel positive about being No. 1,” he said.

Langley said being No. 1 on the ballot will be an advantage because some people will vote for the first four candidates or even just the first candidate on their ballot.

The other commission candidates will appear in the following order: Mark Bradford, Brian “Slim” Nash, Joe Denning, Sue Parrigin, Melinda Hill, Rick Williams and Mike Clark.

In the Smiths Grove mayoral race David L. Stiffey will appear first followed by Bert E. Higginbotham.

In the Smiths Grove commission race, Terry Pierce will appear first followed by Jessie F. Varner, Jeffrey Cannon, Porter Martin, Cova “Teresa” Stidham, Lawrence Stiffey and Gary Vincent.

In the Plum Springs commission race, Jennifer Cowles will appear first followed by Richard P. Geraghty, Tommy Carder, Rosa Cowles and Sheila Duncan.

In the Oakland commission race, Ron L. Alsup will appear first followed by Jimmy “Hoppy” Hopkins.

In the Woodburn commission race, Louise Ferguson will appear first followed by Gabrielle Madison, Jerry Travelstead and Charles E. Jenkins Jr.

In the Second District constable race, Chris Dillingham’s name will appear first followed by Tony Bell.

In the Bowling Green Independent School Board race, Christine A. Dressler’s name will appear first followed by Chuck Keown and Frank Hampton Moore Jr.
