Joe H. Roberts

Joe H. Roberts, 55, of Bowling Green, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at his residence. Joe was born Nov. 27, 1958, in Bowling Green. He was the son of the late H.I. and Nita Roberts.

Joe was employed as a sales representative at Packaging Unlimited in Franklin. Joe was a 1976 graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended the University of Louisville, where he was a member of the Cardinal baseball team. Joe enjoyed playing golf in his spare time and he had many passions including music, playing his many guitars, and being an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cleveland Browns. Survivors include his wife, Kay Kirby Roberts; her parents, Bob and Norma Jean Kirby; his beloved dogs, “Francisco Garcia for 3” and “Roxy”; sister, Leigh Roberts Fane (Butch Fane); nieces and nephews, Katie Fane, Will Fane, Anne-Riley Fane, Alison Frederick, John Kirby, Ann Kirby, Robert Kirby, Kirby Gooding and Jackson Gooding.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway United Methodist Church (The MAC). Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church. J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane chapel, is directing.
