Dr. Lewis Wayne Graham, 90, a dentist for 56 years in Bowling Green, died June 17, 2014, at home.
He was the son of the late Dr. Vere and Ruth Nelson Graham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Willey Graham; two brothers, Dr. Nelson Vere Graham and Ensign James Crouse Graham; and a sister, Shirley Nelle Haag.
He was a graduate of Bowling Green High School, Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville Dental School. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association and served as president and member of the Pennyrile Dental Society. He offered his services as a dentist at the Free Clinic as well as the Health Wellness Mobile Unit for Western Kentucky University.
Dr. Graham was a past president, Paul Harris Fellow and a 50-year perfect attendance member of the Noon Rotary Club. He was a charter member and deacon of Eastwood Baptist Church and a member of International Gideons of the East Camp. As a veteran of World War II, he served his country as an instructor and pilot of B-29 bombers in the South Pacific.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane chapel. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. A graveside service will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, Wayne Knox Graham of Atlanta, Dr. David Lewis Graham of Morehead, Dr. Richard Vere Graham of Denver and Robert George Graham of Indianapolis; a daughter, Cornelia Graham Walker, an International missionary in Japan; seven grandsons, Brian Graham, Paul Graham, Dr. Joshua Walker, Daniel Graham, Phillip Graham, Christopher Walker and Jesse Graham; three granddaughters, Katherine Graham Timmerman, Sarah Joy Graham and Megan Ruth Graham; three great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter; two nephews, Dr. Nelson Graham and Chuck Haag; and a niece, Joanne Miles Miller.
