Truman E. Whittle

Truman E. Whittle, 86, of Smiths Grove, died Feb. 28, 2014 at The Medical Center.

The Edmonson County native was a son of the late Lonnie and Effie Ester Houchens Whittle and husband of the late Blanche Mills Whittle. He was a self-employed business owner and member of Chalybeate Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Miller and Darlene Calvert (Dickey); two sons, Danny Whittle (Debbie) and Edward Whittle (Neva); eight grandchildren, Ann Wells (Mike), Cathy Johnson (Jason), Gary Miller (Sharon), Melissa Johnson, Gina Jaggers (Eric), Kevin Vincent (Valerie), Rhonda Gossett (Chad) and Matthew Whittle; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Kinser Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
