Mrs. Mary Ann West Porter

Mrs. Mary Ann West Porter, 78, of Franklin, died Feb. 7, 2014, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. 

A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Wade West and Ruby Cox West. She worked as a cook at Simpson Elementary School, The Medical Center at Franklin and Thompson Food Center. She was a member of Old Way Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Porter; a son, Larry Mitchell; two daughters, Sheila Throckmorton and Karen Gann; two brothers, Willie and Henry West; a sister, Lena Buntin; and a grandson, Matthew Throckmorton. 

Survivors include two sons, Tim Porter and Wayne Porter, both of Franklin; two sisters, Martha Patterson of Martinville, Ind., and Joyce Herrington of Franklin; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Lorene West of Franklin.

Funeral services are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
