Kathryn ‘Kay’ Schell

Kathryn “Kay” Schell, 94, of Bowling Green, died at 6:39 p.m. Oct. 8, 2013, at The Medical Center.
The Aurora, Ill., native was born Jan. 25, 1919, a daughter of the late Herman and Anna Mihr Wollenweber. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Schell; a brother; and three sisters. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church, the Bowling Green Garden Club and Briarwood Homemakers.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Schell of Bowling Green and Janet Witherup and her husband, Bill, of New Bern, N.C.; a son, Richard Schell and his wife, Pam, of Douglasville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Schell, Tracy Goodburn and her husband, Grant, Chris Witherup and Laura Witherup; a great-grandchild, Aiden Goodburn; and several nieces and nephews.
