GLASGOW — Gov. Steve Beshear and other state and local officials this afternoon cut the ribbon on the new Glasgow State Nursing Facility.
Patients will move into the 55,000-square-foot, 100-bed facility by early September, Beshear said.
He called the building the start of a new era for the facility, which was formed in 1977.
The Glasgow State Nursing Facility is a state-owned and operated long-term care center for people with mental illnesses who need mental health treatment and nursing services.
Ground was broken on the new building in May 2011. The total project cost was about $20 million.
