Joshua “Josh” Kimbrough, 34, of Bowling Green, passed away June 10, 2013, as a result of being caught in a riptide on the beach in Gulf Shores, Ala., where he and his family were vacationing.
He was born in Bowling Green on Jan. 2, 1979, to Robin Thomas and William B. Kimbrough, who survive. Josh was employed as a co-manager at Wal-Mart on Walton Avenue in Bowling Green. He enjoyed working with children in sports activities. His great love was for his family and their happiness and well-being. Josh was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Western Kentucky University. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rondell Thomas; and great-grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Josh is survived by his wife, Amanda Hope Jones Kimbrough; two sons, Lucas Riley Kimbrough and Noah Davis Kimbrough; his sister, Jessica McCarthy, her husband, Chris, and daughter Haley, of Owensboro; maternal grandmother, Norma Thomas Hoehler; paternal grandparents, Jesse W. and Randy Lowe Kimbrough; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Joshua Kimbrough will be at 11 a.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home Broadway Chapel, where visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
