WKU to offer Summer Performance Institute in June

The WKU Department of Music, in partnership with WKU Lifelong Learning, will offer the Summer Performance Institute this summer. The Institute is an active three-day vocal and band program for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors from local honors chorus and honors wind ensembles.

Students will spend three days participating in a variety of musical, social and recreational activities including rehearsals, group lessons in conducting and music theory, swimming, movies, a pizza party, concert band and talent show. Individual lessons are also available.

The program takes place June 12-14 on the WKU campus. Students may choose from a residential or commuter option. Residential fees are $275 per person if registered on or before April 30 and $295 if registered May 1 or after. Residential fees include program, lodging for two nights and all meals. Commuter fees are $195 per person if registered on or before April 30 and $215 if registered May 1 or after. Commuter fees include program and lunch.
