Sunburst Youth Theatre Welcomes Jonathan Goldstein

Jonny Goldstein is best known as “Walter” the goofy but loveable dad on the hit Nickelodeon show “Drake & Josh” which has won two “Kid’s Choice Awards” as favorite TV show.

Jonathan has been working in the entertainment industry for the past 20 years. He has appeared in re-occurring roles on: “The Starter Wife” (USA Network) and “The Riches” (FX). As well as appearing in: “Workaholics”, “NCIS”, “CSI:NY”, “Criminal Minds”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Private Practice”, “Heroes”’ “The 11th Hour”, “Party Down”, “Californication”, “The West Wing”, “Without a Trace”, “The Handler”, “Windfall” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. With two decades of stage directing under his belt, Jonathan recently made his TV directing debut on the the 2009 KCA winner for favorite TV show “iCarly” (Nickelodeon).

In addition to private coaching, Jonathan worked for two seasons as dialogue coach on UPN’s, “Half & Half”. As a founding member of The Sacred Fools Theater Company (LA), he served on the artistic committee for the first 2 seasons, and is also a founding member of The Atlantic Theater Co. in NY.

Mr. Goldstein has had the pleasure of studying with the following esteemed professionals: David Mamet, W.H. Macey, Felicity Huffman, Tadashi Suzuki, Anne Bogart, John Guare, Liz Swados, Alice Winston, Alan Langdon, Michael Kahn, Terry Hayden and Tony Grecco.

For Senior High School Students:

Auditions for play directed by Jonny are Tuesday July 9th and Wednesday July 10th from 6-8pm at the  Phoenix Theater, 545 Morris Alley.

MONOLOGUE WORKSHOPS

Space is limited in each workshop to maximize the students’ experience and one-on-one time with Jonny, so register soon! To register please fill out attached form and return with payment.

  • WORKSHOP 1: July 9th 10am-5pm July 10th 10am-1pm
  • WORKSHOP 2: July 15th 10am-5pm July 16th 10am-1pm

Register BEFORE April 1st and pay only $85 per workshop; Between April 1st and June 1st, $100 per workshop; After June 1st, $125 per workshop.

With enough interest, Jonny will offer more workshops for scene work or additional monologue workshops.
