Jewell Rebecca Whittaker, 36, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at her residence.

Rebecca was born Sept. 4, 1976, in Whitley County to John William Whittaker and Flora Mae Whittaker, who survive. She attended Cool Springs General Baptist Church and was a 1994 Warren East graduate. Rebecca was a nurse at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro.

Jewell Rebecca Whittaker is survived by a son, Jonathan Garrett Whittaker of Morgantown; her mother, Flora Mae Whittaker of Morgantown; her father, John William Whittaker of Corbin; a sister, Laverne Burns and her husband, Ken, of Morgantown; a brother, John Kevin Whittaker and his wife, Jessica, of Canmer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at Cool Springs General Baptist Church Wednesday at 6 p.m., with Bro. Jeremy Brooks and Bro. Ken Burns officiating. Visitation is from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral. Burial will be in the Whittaker Family Cemetery in London, Ky. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT Thursday at Vankirk Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, with graveside service at 4:30 p.m. EDT in the Whittaker Family Cemetery.
