Carol Mae Thomas, 69, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at The Medical Center at Scottsville.

The Allen County native was the daughter of the late Sherman Charlie Thomas and Nannie Reece Williams Thomas. She was a member of Mount Union UMC, secretary for the Allen County Ambulance Service for 38 years, Allen County treasurer for 18 years and dispatcher for the Scottsville Police Department for 19 years. She was a member of several gospel groups since 1962 and served as the first female president of the Kentucky State Gospel Singing Convention.

She is survived by lifelong friend Rex Agers of Glasgow; a sister, Lamona Cockrill and her husband, Wayne “Fuzzy,” of Adolphus; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at T.W. Crow and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with burial in Mount Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.
