The Bowling Green football team finished 8-2 last weekend at the Southeastern 7-on-7 competition in Dalton, Ga.

The Purples went 7-0 in pool play Saturday, beating teams from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas to win their pool championship.

In the winner’s bracket, BG lost 21-7 to Auburn (Ala.) on Sunday. In the loser’s bracket, the Purples beat Baylor (Tenn.) 20-13 but were then eliminated with an 18-15 loss to Riverdale (Tenn.).

Cartersville (Ga.) went on to win the 7-on-7 championship.
