SKyPAC donates $1,900.00 to local Humane Society

Prior to the Broadway performance of CATS, SKyPAC decided that two (2) dollars from every CATS ticket sold between May 1 and May 13 would be donated to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society. The decision that a portion of the proceeds should benefit this local organization was an easy one. Tom Tomlinson, SKyPAC Executive Director, said, “Partnering with the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society was a natural fit for our presentation of this great Broadway show. Our commitment to the Southern Kentucky region goes far beyond providing first-class, diverse entertainment and exceptional educational programs, our goal is to become an integral part of this community. We begin, but we understand that without the support of those who come to see our shows, we would not be able to make a donation such as this.”

From May 1 through May 13, the monies earmarked for the Humane Society totaled $1,900, with a check being presented to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society on June 19, 2012. Lorri Hare, Director of the Humane Society, is so grateful for the support, “We are very appreciative of this donation from SKyPAC – it will go a long way to help the animals here at our facility.”

When the SKyPAC ticket office experienced an almost immediate sell-out for the 3:00 p.m. performance of CATS, an evening performance was added. Thrilled with such a large turnout, SKyPAC believes it bodes well for the future success and longevity of the facility. As the most popular and longest running North American Touring production in history, the national cast of CATS gave its last performance in Bowling Green that evening. Who knew twelve years ago, when SKyPAC was but a dream, that this city would stand within the ranks of major metropolitan cities – host to a phenomenal performance long to be remembered. CATS is the winner of seven (7) Tony Awards including Best Musical.
