Mr. J.P. Doss

A former Franklin resident, Mr. J.P. Doss, 90, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Feb. 23, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. 

A native of Macon County, Tenn., he was the son of the late Coy Doss and Amy Smith Doss. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Holland, and a brother, Willard Doss. Mr. Doss was a World War II Army veteran, a farmer and was manager of the PAG Company in Franklin. He and his wife owned and operated the King’s Table Restaurant in Bowling Green for 10 years. He was once employed by the Warren County school system as custodian at the Alvaton School. He was a member of Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Edith Dowell Doss of Bowling Green; one sister, Inez Jones of Indianapolis; three brothers, Claude Doss and Roger Doss, both of Indianapolis, and A.J. (Jack) Doss of Detroit.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 6 a.m. Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home.
