William Franklin ‘Frank’ Craig

LAWRENCEBURG — William Franklin “Frank” Craig, 73, of Lawrenceburg, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Homestead Nursing Home in Lexington. He was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Fulton to the late William Bevard and Frances Elrod Craig and raised in Central City.

Frank was a retired electrician for the Kentucky Department of Military Affairs and a former band director and principal of Anderson County Middle School. He served in the 100th Division of the U.S. Army and was a member of Fox Creek Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Holt Craig; two daughters, Shaleen Craig Simmons (Faurest) and Verdie Craig (Teddy Sawyer), both of Lexington; two stepsons, Kenneth Stratton and Kevin Stratton (Vicky), both of Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren, Rachel and Rebekah Quinn, Faurest Simmons II, Elana Sawyers and Kyle, Jessica and Nicholas Stratton; cousin, Geraldine Wolfe and her son, Matthew Wolfe (Amanda), and their children, Halle and Bo.

Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, with Bro. Don Wells officiating.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Old Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Orleans, Ind.
