Frances ‘Vicky’ Vickers Taylor

Frances “Vicky” Vickers Taylor passed away Jan. 13, 2012, in Austin, Texas.

Vicky was born in Glasgow, Ky., on Nov. 26, 1925, to Virgil and Grace Williams Berry. After her father’s death, Frances was adopted by her stepfather when her mother married Dr. W.L. Vickers of Franklin, Ky. From then on, she became known as “Little Vic” and thus “Vicky.”

She met Clarence Taylor in 1953 while visiting friends in Como, Miss. They married and lived in Como until the mid-1980s when they moved to Memphis, Tenn. In 2006, she moved to Austin, Texas, to be close to her youngest daughter, Grace Vivian Taylor-Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence V. Taylor Jr. of Como; and her son, G. Thomas “Tommy” Rahilly Jr., M.D., of Rochester, N.Y.

She is survived by her two daughters, Berry Rahilly Glassell and her husband, Stephen, of Shreveport, La., and Grace Vivian Taylor-Jackson and her husband, Roger, of Austin, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Anne Rahilly of Falmouth, Mass.; five granddaughters; one grandson and their spouses; and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made in her name at Como United Methodist Church in Como, Miss., or to your local humane society.
