A Cave City man was killed Monday in a two-vehicle collision in Hart County.

Kentucky State Police were called at 11:15 a.m. to the crash scene on Ky. 88 at Currico Road in Hart County, according to a KSP release.

Edward J. Green, 46, of Cave City, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet westbound on Ky. 88 when he crossed the center line, striking a 1998 Ford driven by Noel T. Johnston, 64, of Munfordville, according to the release.

Green was taken by ambulance to Cub Run Elementary School to meet a medical helicopter, but he died before the air ambulance could take off, the release said. Hart County Coroner Jeff Roten pronounced Green dead at 11:49 a.m.

Johnston was taken by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Monday afternoon, according to the release.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. Johnston and Green were not wearing seat belts, the release said.

Trooper Lonnie Hodges is investigating the crash.
