A New Jersey police officer has been reunited with his tricked-out Buick that was stolen here last month, along with his truck and the trailer he used to haul the car.
During the weekend of Buick Grand Nationals on Oct. 22-23, two participants reported stolen vehicles to the Bowling Green Police Department.

Vassilios Triantafillou, a police officer from Fort Lee, N.J., reported to the BGPD that someone stole his 1997 Ford truck, an open car trailer, a 1987 Buick Regal that was on the trailer and items inside the vehicles, for a total loss of $71,201.
Triantafillou took to the Internet, posted pictures and information about the thefts on car enthusiast forums and offered a reward, BGPD spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said.
Someone who was approached about buying Triantafillou’s stolen Buick called Triantafillou and told him that he knew where the car could be found in Michigan. Triantafillou called Michigan State Police, said BGPD Detective Tim Wilson, who was assigned the case.
Police officers in the Western Wayne Auto Theft Unit of the Michigan State Police found the Buick and the partially covered trailer at a home on Suburban Drive in Ecorse, Mich., Wilson said. Triantafillou’s 1997 truck was recovered in Detroit.
“The actions taken by the owner helped in the recovery of the car,” Michigan State Police spokeswoman Tiffany Brown said.
Triantafillou declined to comment about the recovery of his vehicles.

No arrests had been made in the case as of Thursday afternoon.
Before they were recovered, the last time Triantafillou saw his vehicles was when he parked them at 9 p.m. Oct. 22 in the parking lot at the Holiday Inn University Plaza at 1021 Wilkinson Trace.
Jeffrey Rodick of Coral Springs, Fla., reported that same weekend that someone stole his 2005 silver Dodge Ram, the flatbed trailer that was attached to the Dodge, tools, racing fuel and a 1987 Buick Grand National and a black moped that were on the trailer, according to city police records.
Rodick’s vehicles were stolen from the parking lot of the Ramada Inn, 4767 Scottsville Road, records show.
Ramada Inn security footage shows the vehicles just before midnight. In the security tape, two people dressed in dark clothing run across the parking lot near the truck. One of the people walks with a limp. A few minutes later, the vehicle is seen leaving the lot. The thief or thieves made off with $105,535 in vehicles and other stolen goods belonging to Rodick.
A light-colored van found on the Michigan property where Triantafillou’s Buick and trailer were recovered matches the description of the vehicle seen leaving the Ramada Inn, Wilson said.
“Because the other vehicle has not been located, our search is not over nor is the investigation complete,” Ward said.
The case remains under investigation in Michigan as well, Brown said.
