So, after a wonderful turnout at the first annual “Summer for the Soldiers” event, we are now planning our “Christmas for the Soldiers” event this November 12, 2011 at Phil Moore Park from 10:00am-2:00pm. We need volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and businesses to get involved for this worthy cause.

We had over 50 sponsors/donors, 100 volunteers, raised over $7,000 and sent over 100 packed care packages to 5 units that included soldiers from this area(like my husband). THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We would like to DOUBLE these numbers in November! We have the gymnasium at the park, therefore we can have inside as well as outside booths and activities. This gives us even more possibilities! Wuhu/Beaver are already signed on for the LIVE BROADCASTS that day, we already have several local and state representatives on board as well. We need you to help make this event a success and due to Veterans Day, 10th Anniversary of 9/11, and the holidays coming up, there are even more reasons why we need to say “Thank you” to our veterans, local military, deployed military, and families. The upcoming months are difficult for those in war zones, but also for the families that are back home. This is one day that we can give as a community to show our support and pride of our soldiers and families.
