Bra display on Scottsville Road is inappropriate

I am a supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness and I have a family member that has suffered from the disease, but good taste has been overlooked.

This past weekend driving down Scottsville Road, I looked across the road from Steak ’n Shake to see what appears to be a clothesline with about 100 bras hanging on it and a pink bow. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I believe this is very inappropriate for young children and adults who still have conservative, modest values.

How about for Testicular Cancer Awareness we hang 100 jock straps on a clothesline in front of the mall? Where do we draw the line, folks?

I doubt anyone would have the audacity to hang that display in front of a church or a school. If you wouldn’t put it in front of a school or a church, why would you display it at all? Doing it inside a private business is one thing, putting it on the side of a major thoroughfare is another. Breast cancer is a devastating disease that deserves and needs everyone’s attention, but not in this manner.

There are many issues affecting our country, and obviously moral values are right at the top of the list.
