WKU to celebrate International Reach Week

Western Kentucky University will celebrate its spirit of global excellence during International Reach Week Sept. 24-30.

Highlights include the following:

Sept. 24: Bowling Green International Festival, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Circus Square Park, 601 State St. Admission is $3. www.BGInternationalFest.com

Sept. 24: Art exhibit, Harold Winslow, A Vision of the Mexican, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center’s second floor gallery.

Sept. 26: International Coffee Hour, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grise Hall, room 128.

Sept. 28: Study Abroad Fair, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Centennial Mall/Downing University Center.

Sept. 29: Peace Corps General Information Session, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Gary A. Ransdell Hall, room 2002. Presenters will include WKU biology professor Larry Alice.

Sept. 29: International Students’ Country & Culture Displays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Downing University Center.

International Reach Week events also include faculty and staff workshops on grant opportunities, teaching and research exchange programs, creating study abroad courses, working with international students, and professional development opportunities available through the WKU-Hanban exchange in China.
