The outdoor wedding of Holly Mitchell and Brad Blackwell was performed by Dr. George Strunk on May 27, 2011, at Whitehall House and Gardens in Louisville.

Holly wore a Vera Wang strapless organza gown with asymmetrical blossom flange detail, a crystal embellished headpiece and a vintage-inspired sash.

Lori Mitchell-Ozburn, sister of the bride, of Nashville, served as matron of honor and Brad’s two sons, Bradley and Landon, served as the best men.

The wedding was at Christ United Methodist Church, with a reception afterward at the Hurstbourne Country Club.

Holly is the daughter of Danny and Peggy Mitchell of Scottsville. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in textiles and apparel merchandising and a master’s degree in mental health counseling. Holly is currently employed by Publicis Selling Solutions as a pharmaceutical representative in Louisville.

Brad is the son of Judy Blackwell of Lebanon and Keith Blackwell of Columbia. Brad graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and from the University of Louisville School of Law. Brad is a vice president with Churchill Downs Inc.

After a honeymoon to Italy, the couple will reside in Louisville.
