- Review: Anthologies by Derik Hulquist
Anthologies is the second album from Knoxville, Tennessee (now living in Nashville), singer/songwriter Derik Hulquist. Many of the songs on Anthologies have an alt-country tinge that separates them from the general singer-songwriter genre.
The production quality on Anthologies is more sophisticated than his earlier recordings and reflects a maturing of his particular musical vision. “Whether Report” and “I Fell In Love with a Ghost” are particularly compelling. At 25, Hulquist shows plenty of promise, and I look forward to more from him.
