Harold Richey Pearson Sr., 89, of Bowling Green, died at 5:20 a.m. July 16, 2011, at his residence.
The Warren County native was born March 15, 1922. He was a retired farmer and a member of Plano Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 63 years, and was a Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was an Army veteran, serving from Sept. 18, 1945 to June 5, 1946. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved gardening, painting and woodworking. He was a son of the late Carl Garland Pearson and Lallie Mae Richey Pearson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Rose Pearson; two sisters, Carlene Reynolds and Hattie Frances Pearson; two brothers, Carl Wayne Pearson and Stanley Pearson; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Pearson.
Funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Plano Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Lee Glasscock Pearson; three sons, Bobby Ray Pearson of Rockfield, Joe David Pearson and his fiancee, Brenda Ciarlante, of Bowling Green, and Richey Pearson and his wife, LeeAnn Pearson, of Alvaton; five daughters, Betty Pearson Thomas and her husband, David, and Peggy Pearson Greathouse and her husband, Dwayne, all of Bowling Green, Suzanne Pearson McLellan and her husband, Bobby, of Lewisburg, Debbie Pearson Shirley and her husband, George Wallace Shirley, of Edmonton, and Martha Pearson Parrish and her husband, Floyd, of Roundhill; 20 grandchildren, Robin Holmes, Haley Bush, Ernie Thomas, Robby McLellan, Timmy McLellan, John McLellan, Joe Pearson Jr., Penny Warwick, Brooke Warden, Luke Pearson, Emily Lawler, Wesley Shirley, Heather Cowan, Darby Greathouse, Daniel Pearson, Caleb Pearson, Hannah Pearson, John Pearson, April Perdue and Nathaniel Greathouse; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Jenkins of Bowling Green and Jo Ann Connell and her husband, John, of Milan, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
