The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents not to fall prey to a telephone scam.
The sheriff’s office has received several complaints from people who say that they are receiving telephone calls from a number that is blocked on caller identification. The scammers tell the person who answers the phone that they are out-of-town relatives on vacation and have been arrested.
Then the scammers ask the people to call to send money to pay for a bond.
The sheriff’s office warns residents not to give out any personal financial information over the telephone and to report any suspicious calls to the sheriff’s office at 842-1633.
