Beech Bend Super Star Singing Competition Returns in 2011

The popular Beech Bend Super Star Singing Competition will return for Season 3 and showcase exceptional regional talent in 2011.  The season will kick off with an encore performance by last year’s winner, Mackenzie Morgan.  Mackenzie will perform on Saturday, May 28th.  The competition will begin on June 4th and run through September 3rd.  Show time is 2:45 each Saturday.

Last years winner Mackenzie Morgan from Murfreesboro, Tennessee has competed in many competitions on state and national levels over the last seven years including the Loretta Lynn Talent Competition, the Tennessee Country Music Association competition, North American Country Music Association International and the Country Gospel Music Association competition.  Mackenzie commented, “the level of talent in the Beech Bend Super Star competition was the toughest group of competitors I have ever competed against.”  Mackenzie has been to three different organizations of national level singing five years in a row and there has never been this level of talent at any of these events.

Brandy Neelly from Louisville, Kentucky was runner up.  She made it to the final auditions of American Idol in Nashville, Tennessee and through the end of auditions at Hollywood Week.

Also Kenzie Lewis from Hodgenville, Kentucky a former contestant also advanced to Hollywood week after the final round of auditions in Nashville, Tennessee.

Superstar has had regional Colgate Country Showdown winners, state and local fair winners, and other local and state competition winners.  Beech Bend Super Star is a serious singing competition open to all ages.  This year Beech Bend has partnered with WGGC who will be hosting each event.

The grand prize winner will receive:

  • 2 VIP tickets to the Grand Ole Opry
  • An autographed guitar donated by PCG Nashville
  • A 3 day scholarship to the Nashville Music Business Camp (PCG Nashville)
  • Show performance at Beech Bend Amusement Park in 2012 and an opening act performance for a 2012 IGA, Beech Bend Park and WGGC 95Live Summer Concert

Weekly judges representing the Nashville music industry are onboard and are searching for new talent. Direct interviews with some of Nashville’s top music industry has opened doors of opportunity for some of our contestants.  Last year contestants came from Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, West Virginia.
