Two local photographers will be exhibiting their work at the Warren County Public Library in May. Donn Miertl will exhibit in the Porter Café at the Main Library. Tony Wycihowski will exhibit at the Kirby Branch.
Donn Miertl has been involved with photography since 1948 when he began as an Army Signal Corps field photographer. He graduated from Purdue in 1958 with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. In 1962 he moved to Detroit, Michigan to work for GM. He joined the Photographic Guild of Detroit and acquired most of his photographic education due to his association with the Guild. He was a member until 1996, when he retired from GM and moved to Bowling Green.
His interests in photography are varied, and include black and white, color printing, nature, color slide, and experimental photography. He has been a scuba diver since 1952, and began underwater photography in the mid 1960s while diving in the Cayman Islands. He is a member of the Sunny 16 Photography Club.
Anthony Wycihowski will exhibit his photography at the Bob Kirby Branch. The theme of the show is called: Oh So Pretty! It is a collection of art photography that celebrates the seasons and the small moments of life. The exhibit features the celebration of spring, the glory of a winter day, eeriness of abandoned buildings, and the simple joy of light falling through a window and much more. This majority of this collection of photography is being shown to the public for the first time.
Wycihowski lives in the Bowling Green area. His displays of photography cover a range of styles. His work has been exhibited around the Bowling Green area and at the Kentucky State Fair. He is also an active member in the Sunny 16 Photography Club.
