Ron Raymer

Ron Raymer, 74, died at 11:40 a.m. March 21, 2011, at The Medical Center.

The Detroit native was a former co-owner of Golden Farley Men’s Store and a retired independent insurance agent. He was a member of Plano Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of Warren County High School. He attended Western Kentucky University. He was an Army Reserve veteran and a former Kentucky Colonel. He was a son of the late Sam Raymer and Virginia Whalin Raymer. He was preceded in death by a son, David Raymer; and a sister, Nancy Raymer Hargett.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley W. Raymer; two daughters, Terri Lynn Ferris and her husband, Stuart, of Covington, Tenn., and Susan Dunn of Bowling Green; two sons, Marty Miller and his wife, Kerri, of Rockfield, and Martin Miller of Bowling Green; a daughter, Michelle Miller Spear and her husband, Roy, of Bowling Green; a brother, Kenny Raymer of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, Lacey Long Spinks and her husband, Mathew, Ashley Lloyd, Hannah Dunn, Isaac Raymer and Drake and Devin Spear, all of Bowling Green, and Malia and Kyler Miller of Rockfield; a great-grandchild, Taryn Nichole Spinks of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
