The Delta Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority will be hosting the 9th annual Shamrock Shootout Basketball Tournament from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 26 and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 27.
The five on five tournament will be held at Western Kentucky University’s Preston Health and Activities Center. Nearly 64 teams will be registered to play and compete for a $500 cash prize.
With both time and money donations, more than 250 students and community members are contributing to the Family Enrichment Center in Bowling Green and to Prevent Child Abuse America through this tournament. Eighty percent of the proceeds will remain in the local community. The remaining 20 percent will go to PCA America, one of Kappa Delta’s national philanthropies.
This event contributes with all other Kappa Delta Sororities across the nation to raise funds to help benefit local affiliations and PCA America. The national Kappa Delta Sorority began supporting PCA America in 1981 and began the nationwide Shamrock Event in 1983.
