BROWNSVILLE — Elsie Whalin Johnson, 86, of Brownsville, died Feb. 11, 2011, in Brownsville.

The Edmonson County native was a retired inspector for Brownsville Manufacturing Co. and a foster grandparent in the Edmonson County Schools. She was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Wilson Whalin and Hazel Madison Whalin and the wife of the late Hobert Johnson. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Johnson.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Grove United Baptist Church, with burial in Johnson Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville chapel.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Johnson and his wife, Faye, and Vernon Johnson and his wife, Rhonda, all of Brownsville, and Arnold Johnson and his companion, Lisa Priddy, of Oakland; a brother, Donald Bitterman and his wife, Phyllis, of Indiana; a sister, Laverne Holder and her husband, Bill, of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Bridgett Alexander and her husband, Jason, Allen Johnson and his wife, Courtney, Daniel Johnson and his wife, Melissa, Deanna Yoakem and her husband, Randy, Amanda Reinhardt and her husband, Eddie, and Laura Hennion and her husband, Chad; and 10 great-grandchildren.
