Doris Jane Dean, 79, of Bowling Green, died Feb. 9, 2011, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green.

The Galt, Mo., native was born Oct. 8, 1931. She was a lover of life, an adventurer and a seasoned traveler. She was a daughter of the late James Warren Gibson and Bessie Foster Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Theodore Dean.

Memorial service is at 3 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Duncan and Debra Huey, both of The Villages, Fla.; a brother, Rex Gibson of Stanwood, Wash.; a sister, Betty Root of San Benito, Texas; four grandchildren, Jennifer Duncan of Bowling Green, Kelly Duncan of Fort Collins, Colo., Benjamin Huey of Williamson, N.Y., and Brandon Huey of Orlando; a niece, Joyce McDonald of Bowling Green; and several other out-of-town nieces and nephews.
