Cave City native Beegie Adair tops Japanese year end charts

Cave City native Beegie Adair continues to delight audiences worldwide with her jazz piano. Year end Soundscan reports confirm her album My Piano Romance was the top selling jazz album in Japan in 2010 and all three albums released there made the Top 10. As a result, she was nominated for Jazz Artist of the Year for the annual BJMAs (Billboard Japan Music Awards), though was beat out by J.A.M. at the award ceremony February 6 in Tokyo. The embedded video below shows Adair performing the Japanese pop classic Sweet Memories in a promotion for her second EMI – Japan release last fall.
Adair has performed with some of the biggest names in music and in addition to being a top recording and performing artist is a clinician, lecturer and radio host.
She continues to reside in Nashville where she began her music career accompanying artist such as Chet Atkins, Dolly Parton, Mamma Cass Elliott, Peggy Lee and Johnny Cash. Her radio talk/music show Improvised Thoughts, can be heard on the local NPR affiliate.
