Kentucky State Parks Offer Valentine Packages

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and several Kentucky State Parks are offering special packages during February. State parks offer a great chance for a getaway weekend, along with excellent food, entertainment and natural beauty and scenery. Listed below are the resort parks with a description of the Valentine’s packages and the park toll-free phone number. Barren’s Honeymooners Weekend – Feb. 11-12: Barren River Lake State Resort Park, 800-325-0057 – This weekend is a tradition at Barren River. Bring your sweetheart for a weekend that will take you back to the 1950s. Tons of entertainment and fun, including a Sweetheart ‘Sock Hop’ with a DJ on Saturday night, lots of games and couples activities including the Not So Newlywed Game and sweet treats! The two night package of $225 (plus tax) per couple includes lodging, all the recreation activities, dinner buffet for two and breakfast buffet for two (drink, tax and tip included in both meals.) Valentine’s Dinner Theater– Feb. 11-13: Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, 800-443-7008 – Patrons will dine from a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet featuring Kentucky State Park favorites as well as a dessert buffet. Afterwards, be treated to world-class entertainment! Tickets are $34.95 plus tax per person for dinner and entertainment. Packages available for $129 plus tax that include an overnight stay in the lodge room of your choice, two dinner theater tickets and breakfast for two the following morning.
Sweetheart’s Weekend – Feb. 11-12: Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park, 800-325-0058 – Romance is in the air at Buckhorn Lake! Nestle into this beautiful lodge for the night with a special lodge room rate of $50 plus tax (based on availability for Friday or Saturday night) and enjoy a special dinner Saturday, Feb. 12 at Bowlingtown Country Kitchen. Choose from either sliced Prime Rib with accompaniments for $21 plus tax or a seafood platter of catfish and shrimp with sides for $14 plus tax. Call for more information or reservations.
Romance at the Caves – Feb. 11–13: Carter Caves State Resort Park, 800-325-0059 – Spend a romantic evening in the natural beauty of the eastern Kentucky foothills. Romance that special someone in your life with dinner followed by a special performance by a Patsy Cline impersonator. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 6:45 p.m. Admission fee of $24.99 plus tax per person includes dinner and a show. The park is also offering a package that includes the dinner, show and an overnight stay in Lewis Caveland Lodge for just $109.99 plus tax for two people.
Valentine Getaway Weekend – Feb. 11–13: Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, 800-325-0063 – Cumberland Falls has been considered one of Kentucky’s most romantic attractions for decades. Your weekend begins with dance on Friday evening, music provided by a DJ. On Saturday evening is a mystery dinner theater. Entire weekend package is $299 plus tax per couple, which includes two nights lodging, a dance on Friday and Saturday breakfast, lunch, and evening dinner and theater. Pricing for dance on Friday is $15 per person. Dinner and show on Saturday is $35 per person.
XOXO Valentine’s Weekend – Feb. 11–13: Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, 800-325-2282 – Treat your sweetheart to romance at Dale Hollow Lake! Arrive Friday night and enjoy dinner, the comedy/country music of David Hurt’s interpretation of “Grandpa Jones,” lodging and breakfast for $134.95 plus tax per couple. Stay Saturday night and enjoy dinner, romantic dance with “Klassyc Tymes” band, lodging and breakfast for $169.95 plus tax per couple. Both are very popular events and sell out annually! Perfect Harmony Dinner Theatre Weekend – Feb. 11–13: General Butler State Resort Park, 866-462-8853 – Every couple deserves a weekend away, so come and enjoy yourself at our Dinner Theatre Weekend. General Butler is nestled between rolling hills and stunning views of the Kentucky and Ohio rivers and is steeped in history! The Saturday night entertainment is the “Eight Days A Week Beatles Tribute Band.” Package price: $275 plus tax per couple. Includes Friday and Saturday night lodging at Butler Lodge, Friday dinner buffet at Two Rivers Restaurant, Saturday breakfast buffet at Two Rivers, Saturday dinner theatre and Sunday breakfast buffet at Two Rivers. If you wish to book a cottage, you pay the rate difference in addition to the package price, and receive a $20 discount on cottage rate. If your plans are to come to the dinner theatre only, the individual ticket price is $35 per person plus tax.
Valentine’s Weekend – Feb. 12-13: Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, 800-325-0083 – Begin your evening with the Sweetheart Buffet offering roast pork loin, Chicken Veronique, catfish and more. After dinner, mosey over to the Conference Center and enjoy “Blind Date” theatre, a play about a mortician and uninterested lady who find romance despite nosy elders. Valentine’s Day Dinner Buffet – Feb. 12: Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, 800-325-0142 – Please make plans for you and yours at our Valentine’s Day getaway. It will be an evening filled with a romantic candlelight dinner buffet and wonderful romantic music. You can either join us for the evening or make a weekend of it with our Valentine package. The cost of $100 per couple includes one night’s lodging and prime rib dinner for two! Call for more information.
Heartthrob Hotel – Feb. 12: Kenlake State Resort Park, 800-325-0143 – Situated high above Kentucky Lake, Kenlake Lodge is offering a romantic candlelight dinner in Aurora Landing Restaurant, an overnight stay in the lodge and deluxe continental breakfast. Package is $89.95 plus tax per couple or upgrade to a one-bedroom cottage for $119.95 per couple.
Sweetheart’s Buffet – Feb. 12: Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, 800-325-0146 – The park will be serving a special Sweetheart’s Buffet on Feb. 12 that will feature carved roast beef, chicken cordon bleu, fried shrimp, roasted rosemary pork loin, peel and eat shrimp and assorted vegetables and desserts. The cost is $12.99 plus tax.
Sweetheart Weekend – Feb. 11–12: Lake Barkley State Resort Park, 800-325-1708 – Lake Barkley State Resort Park celebrates Valentine’s Day with a Sweetheart getaway. On Friday night and Saturday afternoon enjoy planned recreation activities, and then on Saturday night enjoy our annual dance and dinner with live music from Syndicate of Soul. One and two night packages available that include lodging, activities, dance and dinner. One-night package with lodge room, dinner buffet, Sweetheart Dance Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast for $189 plus tax per couple. Valentine’s Buffet – Feb. 12: Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, 800-325-1709 – Lake Cumberland State Resort Park will host a special buffet that will feature prime rib and shrimp from 5-8 p.m. The cost is $20.95 per person.
Valentine’s Getaway – Feb. 12: Natural Bridge State Resort Park, 800-325-1710 – Natural Bridge will offer a special Valentine’s Day dinner 4-8 p.m. at the Sandstone Arches Restaurant. The menu features Beef Round with au jus and horseradish sauce, Five Spice Rubbed Loin of Pork, chicken piccatta, corn dusted fried catfish, herb roasted red potatoes, Southern style green beans, baby carrots with brown sugar and honey glaze, seafood bisque and minestrone soup, assorted rolls and cornbread, banana pudding and assorted desserts all for $15.95 a person, tax and drink not included. A package that includes a lodge room for one night, the dinner and breakfast for two is available for $129.95 plus tax.
Sweetheart’s Weekend – Feb. 12–13: Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, 800-325-1711 – Come to Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park for a romantic Valentine’s Weekend! The festivities will begin with a romantic dinner on Saturday night. Then enjoy playing the “Not so Newly Wed” game at 7 p.m. Check-in begins at 3 p.m. The $125 package price includes one night’s lodging, Saturday dinner, continental breakfast, Not-so-Newlywed game and Valentine’s prizes. Rough River Sweetheart Weekend – Feb. 11–13: Rough River State Resort Park, 800-325-713 – Love is in the air at Rough River Dam State Resort Park! With this sweetheart package you will enjoy two night’s lodging, three meals (Saturday and Sunday breakfast and a Prime Rib Buffet Saturday night), great entertainment and a lot of love and laughter. The weekend package for two is $225 plus tax. There will be many Valentine/couple-related activities and a dance for you and your honey on Saturday night.
