POLICE NEWS: Pennsylvania man arrested on drug and alcohol charges

Arrest — John T. Pembrooke, 47, 709 Tamarac Drive, Clairton, Pa., was arrested at 2:11 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Park Row and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
According to a city police arrest report, officers responding to a report of a drunk person on Park Row arrested Pembrooke. During a subsequent search, police found in Pembrooke’s wallet a small bag of suspected cocaine folded in a dollar bill, the report said.
He remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.
Arrest — Andrew Howard Phelps, 33, 1411 Indianola St., was arrested at 2:39 p.m. Saturday at his residence and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (second offense), second-degree possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a meth precursor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a city police arrest report, officers investigating a drug tip saw Phelps running from his residence and holding something.
Phelps was detained, and police found a digital scale with suspected methamphetamine residue, $139 in cash, a bag containing a Lorcet pill and a bag with a number of pills containing pseudoephedrine, the report said.
He remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.
Burglary — Someone entered a residence in the 1200 block of Cabell Drive between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday and took two video game systems, seven video games, a .45-caliber handgun and a prescription bottle of Adderall, according to a city police report.
A window on the back door had been broken. Losses totaled $1,325.
Burglary — Someone entered a residence in the 700 block of Shawnee Way between 11:45 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. Jan. 5 and took a 42-inch TV, two portable DVD players, two gold rings and $15 in change, according to a city police report. Losses totaled $1,131.
Burglary — Someone attempted to pry open the dead bolt on the back door of Cash Express, 2371 Russellville Road, between 5:45 p.m. Jan. 3 and 9 a.m. Jan. 4, according to a city police report. No entry was made into the business.
Burglary, criminal mischief — Someone entered a residence in the 2500 block of Churchill Court between 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Saturday and poured bleach over several pieces of clothing, according to a city police report. Damage totaled $1,200.
Burglary, criminal mischief — Someone entered a residence in the 700 block of Patton Way between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 3:40 a.m. Saturday and took a 52-inch TV, according to a city police report. A screen had been torn from a porch window and a lamp had been knocked over and broken inside, the report said. Losses and damage totaled $2,029.50.
Burglary, criminal mischief — Someone entered a shed in the 400 block of Gayle Way and took a set of 10 wrenches between 4 p.m. Jan 12 and 11 a.m. Jan. 13, according to a city police report. A fence on the property had been cut and the latch on the shed had been broken, the report said. Losses and damage totaled $150.
Burglary, criminal mischief — Someone entered Shenanigan’s Liquors, 955 Fields Drive, Suite A, at 3:26 a.m. Sunday and took several bottles of tequila and an unknown number of cigarillos, according to a city police report.
Surveillance footage shows two white men entering the business at that time and filling two bags with the merchandise. One of the men used a rock to break the glass on the front door. The rock also broke a liquor bottle inside the store, the report said. Losses and damage totaled $1,311.
Forgery — A Bowling Green man came to city police headquarters Friday to report that he had a counterfeit $20 bill.
According to a city police report, the man said he went to Walmart at 1201 Morgantown Road on Thursday and received $40 cash back from one of the self checkout lanes. The next morning, he attempted to buy gas at Swifty Oil, but the clerk refused one of the $20 bills and said it was counterfeit, the report said. Police placed the bill into evidence.
Manufacturing methamphetamine — Four hydrogen chloride generators, two plastic bags and two plastic bottles containing remnants of methamphetamine labs were discovered along a walking trail behind Kroger, 350 U.S. 31-W By-Pass, between 9:21 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Saturday, according to a city police report.
Manufacturing methamphetamine — Someone found a 20-ounce plastic bottle with rubber tubing attached to it in the grass next to a parking lot in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue around 1:15 p.m. Jan. 9, according to a city police report.
Several empty blister packs of pseudoephedrine pills and empty battery packs were found in a nearby trash can, and an agent from the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force confirmed that the bottle had been used to make meth, the report said.
Rape — An 18-year-old Glasgow woman reported being sexually assaulted in a room at Western Hills Motel, 312 Morgantown Road, between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a city police report.
The woman said she was in Bowling Green to work for her uncle and was staying in the hotel room. She said that her uncle took her to a bar where she had a few drinks and returned to her hotel at 1 a.m. Saturday and fell asleep fully clothed.
The woman woke up at 3:30 a.m. Saturday wearing no clothes, the report said, and she told police she had no recollection of having sex, but believed she did.
While en route to The Medical Center for an exam, the woman refused to cooperate further with the investigation, declined to prosecute and the case was closed.
Robbery, wanton endangerment — An employee at Firehouse Pizza, 1703 U.S. 31-W By-Pass, reported that someone robbed the restaurant between 12:38 a.m. and 12:48 a.m. Monday, according to a city police report.
The employee said a white man wearing a camouflage ski mask, a hat and a dark brown or black jacket entered the business with a revolver and demanded money.
The suspect received $300 in a bag for breadsticks and ran toward South Central Bank, the report said. Two other employees inside the business gave very similar accounts of the incident, but the security camera on the premises did not record any footage, the report said.
Theft — Someone stole several pieces of scrap metal from a lot in the 1300 block of Adams Street between midnight Dec. 24 and 3:30 p.m. Friday, according to a city police report. Losses totaled $8,000.
Theft — Someone stole several video game systems from Walmart, 150 Walton Ave., between 5:01 a.m. and 5:20 a.m. Monday, according to a city police report. Store employees said the suspect used two different carts to take the merchandise and left the store through an emergency exit.
The store called police on a similar incident by the same suspect Saturday, the report said. Police collected surveillance video footage from both dates and the case will be presented to a grand jury.
Theft — Someone stole a purse from a 2006 Toyota Highlander parked at Kereiakes Park, 1220 Fairview Ave., between 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Jan. 6, according to a city police report. The purse contained a pair of glasses, $30 in cash and debit and credit cards. Losses totaled $530.
Theft, criminal mischief — Someone stole a 1994 Chevrolet Astro van parked at H&H Woodworks, 932 Shive Lane, between 8 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday, according to a city police report.
The van, valued at $1,500, was found Saturday in an abandoned cemetery in Allen County. The ignition and center console were heavily damaged, the report said. Losses and damage totaled $1,900.
Theft of controlled substance — A Bowling Green woman reported losing her purse at Walmart, 150 Walton Ave., between 11:36 p.m. Jan. 8 and 1 a.m. Jan. 9, according to a city police report.
The purse was found lying next to a trash can outside the store. Someone had taken $300 in cash, bottles of Xanax, Tramadol, Lexapro and Phenergan pills and three gift cards. Losses totaled $405.
Theft of controlled substance — Someone stole 59 hydrocodone pills from a residence in the 1500 block of North Sunrise Drive between 9 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. Sunday, according to a city police report.
Theft of controlled substance — Someone took a prescription bottle containing 34 Lorcet pills from a purse at the Division of Probation and Parole Office, 140 Old Porter Pike, No. 8, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a city police report.
Wanton endangerment, criminal mischief — Someone rammed a car into a security officer’s vehicle at Greenwood Mall, 2625 Scottsville Road, between 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday as the officer attempted to stop the car during a shoplifting investigation, according to a city police report.
The officer was contacted by mall employees who said two people had stolen merchandise from Victoria’s Secret, and that they looked similar to two people who reportedly stole from J.C. Penney’s on Jan. 2.
Witnesses said one of the people involved in the shoplifting was a man who dressed as a woman and that the pair drove a blue Chevrolet Malibu.
The officer saw the car in the parking lot and as he took down the vehicle’s information while sitting in his own vehicle, he saw the pair get inside the car. The officer told them not to leave, but the Malibu backed into the side of the officer’s car three times before leaving, the report said.
Damage totaled $1,400.
