TOMPKINSVILLE — A.J. Cain, 89, of Tompkinsville, died Nov. 25, 2010, at his residence.
The Monroe County native was born Oct. 5, 1921. He was a retired map printer for the George F. Cram Co., a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ and a World War II Army veteran. He was a son of the late William Jack Cain and Rhoda Ethel Thompson Cain. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Elizabeth Cain; two brothers, U.G. Cain and Jesse Bazz Cain, who died as an infant; and two sisters, Minnie Lee Himelrick and Ina Tee Spears.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Sunday at Strode Funeral Home, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Military rites will be performed graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to T.J. Samson Hospice or DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Willis Cain of Tompkinsville, whom he married Nov. 15, 1944; a daughter, Jennifer Bohrnstedt and her husband, George, of Bloomington, Ind.; two sisters, Alma Proffitt of Tompkinsville and Zelma Pearl Sons of Indianapolis; a grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and nine great-stepgrandchildren.
