BROOKSTON, Ind. — Geneve Anne “Nevann” Mitchell, 79, of Bowling Green, Ky., formerly of Round Grove Township, died at 4:15 p.m. Nov. 15, 2010, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Lafayette native was born April 11, 1931. She graduated from Round Grove High School in 1949 and later graduated from Home Hospital Nursing School in 1952. She was a registered nurse for many years, serving Lafayette Home Hospital and Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Ill., before retiring in 1993 from The Medical Center. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, quilting, cross-stitch, needlepoint and working crossword puzzles. She loved her family very much and cherished spending time with them, especially her grandchildren, Steven, Jason, James, Laura, Noah and Carly. She had a wonderful relationship with her nieces and extended family. She married Cletus Mitchell on Aug. 22, 1954, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Round Grove Township. She was a daughter of the late John Comer and Golda Gibson Comer. She was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Comer; and a sister, Joan Eberle.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home, with burial in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery in West Lafayette. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Cletus Mitchell; four sons, Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell and his wife, Mary, of Battle Creek, Mich., Kevin Mitchell and his wife, Holly, of Jasper, Ga., Jay Mitchell and his wife, Audrey, of Dallas and John Mitchell of Bowling Green; and a daughter, Sandra Mitchell of Bowling Green.
