Mildred G. Whitlow

SCOTTSVILLE — Mildred Gee Whitlow, 83, of Scottsville, died at 1:15 a.m. Nov. 10, 2010, at The Medical Center at Scottsville.

The Franklin native was a former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing; a retired employee of General Electric and a member of Maple Grove General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Elbridge Lester Mabrey and Gertie Franklin Blankenship Mabrey and the wife of the late Robert O. Whitlow. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul Douglas; and four brothers, the Rev. Melvin Mabrey, William Lewis Mabrey, E.L. Mabrey Jr. and Walter Wade Mabrey.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Gayle Douglas and Connie Johnston and her husband, Dwight, all of Scottsville; a brother, Jimmy Mabrey and his wife, Martha, of Scottsville; two sisters, Wilma Bracken of Indianapolis and Marie Byrn and her husband, Frances, of Scottsville; four grandsons, Kevin Johnston, Brad Johnston, Kelly Grizzle and his wife, Robbie, and Michael Douglas, all of Scottsville; and five great-grandchildren, Kasey and Khloe Johnston and Dylan, Austin and Braxton Grizzle.
