Merile O’Bryan

FRANKLIN — Merile O’Bryan, 88, of Franklin, entered into rest at 8:18 a.m. Oct. 13, 2010, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Corydon, Ind., native was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, where he played basketball, baseball and ran track in high school. He made furniture and owned and operated until his death O’Bryan Recycling in Franklin. He moved to Franklin from southern Indiana in 1966. He was a son of the late June O’Bryan and Rosa Sohn O’Bryan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irma O’Bryan; and two brothers, Burelle and Charles E. O’Bryan.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Franklin, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 6 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Rosary service is at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dorothy L. O’Bryan; three sons, Merile F. O’Bryan and Roy E. O’Bryan, both of Franklin, and Leo A. O’Bryan of Nashville; a daughter, Fern M. O’Bryan Mercer of Woodburn; five grandchildren, Bonnie Spears, Ben O’Bryan, Bradley and Zachary Threlkel and Susan Jennett; and three great-grandchildren, Zaden Threlkel and Gracee Kate Spears and Sophee Rose Spears.
