Kentucky Blues Challenge September 26

There are three bands and one solo/duo qualified to enter for KBC 2010. They will face off at WhaBah’s on Sunday September 26 and the public is invited to the showdown.
Tee Dee Young and the Scandalous Band (Lexington, KY), One Shot Johnny (Magnolia, KY), Lew Jetton & 61 South (Paducah, KY)
Wayne Harper (Mayfield, KY) will compete for the honor of representing the Kentucky Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
Artists will check in at WhaBah by 4:00 PM. All entrants must be a current member of the Kentucky Blues Society. If they are not current, they can renew or join when they arrive.
Each act will perform for no longer than 30 minutes. If they go over 30 minutes they will lose points. 15 minutes is planned for changing acts. A Band is penalized one point from its Total Weighted Score for each ten seconds that it runs overtime. There is no penalty for using less than the allotted time. Each act will get a warning when they have 2 minutes left. We plan to start the first act at 6:00 PM unless we have a lot more qualified entrants before the deadline.

All current members of the Kentucky Blues Society can be a judge. We encourage every member to be a judge. our goal is 200 judges. If your membership is not current you must renew or join by 5:00 PM on Sunday, Sept. 26th. Membership is still only $10 a year. That is less than 3 cents a day.
Judging must be done by the IBC criteria. http://www.blues.org/#ref=ibc_scoring You will sign a document saying you will do so. IBC criteria guidelines will be printed on the score sheets.
For bands or solo/duo submitting to be an entrant you must have recordings or video we can check out. Or we need to have heard you live. Due to the nature of IBC, you must have the capability of scoring a category average of 7.1 or greater through the IBC scoring system http://www.blues.org/#ref=ibc_scoring . Deadline for entrant submission is midnight on Wed. Sept. 22nd.
