The Kentucky Arts Council is accepting applications until Oct. 15, 2010, from professional Kentucky artists who create architectural art and custom-made fixtures for home or commercial installations. Artists accepted into the Architectural Artist Directory will receive promotional support and marketing opportunities from the Kentucky Arts Council.

The Architectural Artist Directory is the newest arts marketing program of the arts council and it serves as a resource for homebuilders, architects, interior designers, landscape architects and private clients in finding artists who can create unique features for home, commercial and public spaces. The Architectural Artist Directory is available online at http://artistdirectory.ky.gov/architectural/ .

“We’ve gained some national recognition for being the first state arts agency to have a program like this,” said Lori Meadows, executive director of the arts council. “We hope the directory will become a well-used resource for the building industry and we have already heard reports from artists about commissions they have received as a result of the program.”

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
