4th Annual Murfest September 17 & 18

A gathering of area musicians and bluegrass pickers dubbed Murfest after founder Yantez Murphy will take place September 17 and 18. 

Murfest began in 2007 when according to Murphy, it “Started by accident when we moved a deck away from our rental house and put it in the back yard to burn. After a fight with the wife that I somehow won I turned it into a stage. With a stage comes pickers and with that comes listeners and with that comes foods, memories and good times. Oh yea and campers.”

Some of the featured artists to appear on the Murfest stage include: Curtis and Ruth Burch, Kenny Lee, Ernie Small, Marty Murphy, Yantez Murphy, Pat Haney, Just Us, Roundabout, The Erin King Band, Mark Whitley, Zach Smith, Robbie “R.T.” Thompson, Kelly Coleman, Kenton Bryant, and more.

Murfest takes place at the home of Yantez Murphy at 1235 Oliver Street.
