Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s chilling, masterpiece of murderous barber-ism and culinary crime tells the tale of an exiled barber who returns to seek revenge against the lecherous judge who framed him. Sweeney’s thirst for blood soon expands to include his unfortunate customers, and the resourceful Ms. Lovett of the pie shop downstairs soon has the people of London lining up in droves with her mysterious new meat pie recipe!
Historically based on the London Legend of the “Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” Sweeney Todd is a bizarre ride into the darker side of London combining a haunting score, and hysterically clever lyrics it is truly a musical thriller. Our talented cast of actors ranging from 8th graders to high school seniors, bring this story to life. The talent and professionalism seen in this group makes this a wonderful opportunity to see what the youth of Bowling Green can really do, and they will amaze you!
